Shanghai, China, April 22, 2023 - On the occasion of World Earth Day 2023, Mercedes-Benz Arena launchs a social music project together with AETHER, a Shanghai local handpan group to celebrate the World Earth Day 2023.

As the debut, Mercedes-Benz Arena released a theme song ‘Earth Flow’ created by AETHER for the World Earth Day on April.22. The inspiration of the song comes from AETHER’s founder, Huang Liyang’s encounter with Mercedes-Benz Arena. As a professional handpan performer, Mr. Huang said, “The handpan is a medium that helps us connect with nature. The unique futuristic architecture of Mercedes-Benz Arena gives me new inspiration. We hope to draw everyone's attention to the natural environment and awaken a sense of responsibility and mission towards environmental protection through this specially created song.”  On the evening of April 22nd at 6pm, the Mercedes-Benz Arena lit up the blue light on time, calling on everyone to take care of our Blue Planet with environmentally friendly behavior, which also marked the official launch of the special "World Earth Day" social music project.

The lyrics of the song come from an Indian ballad. Ani Couni Chaoaui, which is an Indian blessing that calls everyone to love and protect the earth together. In the arrangement section, the original African instrument Asalato and other natural sounds are added, calling on everyone to face and change the current situation of the earth with uplifting and inspiring emotions. A related music video was also filmed at Mercedes-Benz Arena, bringing the pure and ethereal handpan sounds together with the arena, where a healing journey from the universe begins. As one of the top ten new landmark buildings in Shanghai, Mercedes-Benz Arena is like environmental artwork, presenting a fashionable and futuristic architectural style along the Huangpu River.

As part of the project, Mercedes-Benz Arena also invited AETHER band on April 23 to launch a natural healing performance with the arena’s live house at The Mixing Room. Senior musicians from AETHER will lead the audience to embark on a journey and experience the natural music of soul healing. The AETHER musicians will also perform the Earth Day theme song ‘Earth Flow’ for the first time live, and share the story and environmental philosophy behind the song.
